WHAT ARE THE LTA DOING FOR BRITISH TENNIS?

Well done to Heather Watson on winning the US Open girls title last week in New York, at the age of 17. Have we heard of her? No? and why is that? because she trains at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.

Roger Draper, Chief Executive of LTA spoke on Radio 5 of a 10 year plan to get Britain back in the top ranks of world tennis, saying there are talented 14 year olds out there. That's too late for you if you are between 17 and 22 yrs old! What help are the LTA going to give you, how will their 10 yr program be of any great benefit for YOU?
Train in Spain now, there they know how to produce quality palyers, gain world ranking points and prove you can do it!

NATIONALLY RANKED PLAYERS

Have been having great difficulty getting hold of contact details for all our under 18 British players who may be interested in Gap Year Tennis. I came up with the brain wave of using Facebook to send them messages. Great fun and a very up to the minute way of contacting people. I did try the Lawn Tennis Association to see if they would include our brochure in one of their many hundreds of mailouts but as yet no word! Where are they when you need them.

Anyway Facebook such fun. Not just for the teenagers I see. Anyway Gap Year Tennis is coming along nicely and we are now hot off the press for marketing. Who will the lucky 12 players be!http://www.gap-year-tennis.com

SCHOOLS WELCOME GAP YEAR TENNIS PROJECT!

We are now frantically marketing Gap Year Tennis to schools around the UK. The response has been phenomenal! Those 12 places on Gap Year Tennis at La Manga Club will be snapped up very quickly.
With the snow here in England and the fights for indoor courts it is just heavenly to browse through the La Manga photos to see where we will be playing and training later this year.

Roll on summer and that wonderful Gap Year!

GAP YEAR TENNIS GETTING CLOSER!

GAP YEAR TENNIS! 2009 - 2010!

Gap Year Tennis is now celebrating it's link with La Manga Club in Spain, which will be its venue for its inaugural year of 2009.

La Manga Club www.lamangaclub.com is training base to champions and Gap Year students will have all the expertise and facilities at their disposal to make the most of their chances of breaking into the big time.

We are all very excited as we are now starting to enrol our 12 players. Players will be given a chance in their Gap Year to play local Spanish tournaments and also for those very talented Gappers a chance to compete on the Futures Tour.

Looking forward to keeping you updated as we progress.
