SPORTS CLUBS IN BRITAIN!

My company was negotiating to set up a new tennis club in Hertfordshire. All was agreed. Nice new courts. Floodlights, everything lovely! We set up the new programme for the players. Kids classes, adult club periods etc, etc.

The only problem was the use of the pavilion. To be shared with the local bowls clubs. I thought it would be easy enough. Share the facilities....the bowls clubs didn't own the shed. It was owned by the council who agreed for us to use.

NO, NO, NO! We have exclusive use and you won't use our pavilion! We will KILL to hold on to our control.

So, we are now looking for a new venue! Any ideas????

THE LTA RESPOND!

Wow! What excitement at the US Open. I thought Murray was absolutely brilliant against Nadal. I think everyone, in all the excitement, forgot just how great Federer is! Anyway well done to Andy Murray....I absolutely love him, his attitude and how he get's on with it!

Anyway, what a surprise, the LTA have said they want to build on the back of all the energy and excitement caused by our home grown champ! ???? Heard it all before??

Anyway Gap Year Tennis will tackle the system problems, that is for sure! All that mental talent and clever kids might just show the LTA a thing or two!

MURRAY IN US OPEN SEMI!

You must all have been watching Andy Murray in the semi finals against Nadal! I can't wait till this evening to see the conclusion.
Do you ever wonder how Murray got there when your son, friend or pupil seems so much more talented than Murray or even Nadal? I think it is the person with the heart for the whole system that is up there on the world stage. It is very easy to give up around 14 years of age...it is all too difficult!
Unlike football players there is no one in the tennis world to do it for you! Unless you have the heart for the fight you have absolutely no chance of getting into the tournaments that will take you to the next level! That or a mother or father who coaches you.
Anyway, Gap Year Tennis is offering up a system for those players who have the talent but have never been in a position to take it to the next level....WORLD CLASS LEVEL!

GAP YEAR TENNIS GETTING NEARER!

Plans are taking great shape for Gap Year Tennis, due to kick start September 2009!

Agreement has been reached with a fabulous club in Murcia to act as hosts to the Gap Year squad! Interviews will take place over Easter 2009 in and around London, so keep an eye on the website www.sports-holidays.biz for all the details.

In Spain this summer we realised the importance of speaking the lingo in this VERY Spanish area of Spain. While the local people are extremely friendly it was hard, with my very limited conversational skills, to understand what they were saying! Hence Gap Year Tennis will incorporate learning Spanish as an essential part of the experience. It might be a good idea for all hopeful students to start learning the basics well in advance!
